Dr. Caniglia is an environmental sociologist, who has provided education for utilities professionals around the United States, including EPA water security personnel. She was a lead coordinator of the EPA Water Laboratory Alliance Security Summit in 2019, providing educational modules in climate change, cybersecurity, environmental justice, and emergency response to over 350 participating water professionals. Dr. Caniglia is particularly known for her expertise in the environmental justice dimensions of resilience in American cities. She is author of five books, including Resilience, Environmental Justice & the City and Regenerative Urban Development, Climate Change, and the Common Good.
